  • NHS MEMBERS, FORMAN CENTER BLOOD DRIVE IS THIS THURSDAY THE 10TH.  PLEASE VERIFY YOUR WORK TIME ON THE BULLETIN BOARD. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND PLEASE LET MRS. DOTY ASAP.

     

  • THE FORMAN CENTER BLOOD DRIVE IS THIS THURSDAY MAY 10TH. OUR GOAL FOR THIS DRIVE IS TO COLLECT 31 PINTS! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE SEE MRS. DOTY TO SIGN UP OR SIGN UP ON LINE! REMEMBER IF YOU ARE 16 YOU CAN DONATE WITH PARENTAL PERMISSION, SEE MRS. DOTY FOR THE FORM. THERE ARE SEVERAL AFTER SCHOOL HOUR APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE.

 

  • All volleyball players planning to attend camp this summer, forms and money are due by May 15th to Coach Sundberg

 

  • Information and applications for Team Corn Detasseling are available at the office window.

     

  • Students, all library books will be due on Friday, May 11.  See Mrs. Hohenshell ASAP if you will need to keep your book longer.

     

  • Today, we continue National Prevention Week! Day 2 emphasizes awareness of underage drinking and alcohol misuse. Today we wear orange to caution against the dangers of underage drinking. Alcohol is the most widely misused substance among America’s Youth. Medical research shows that the developing adolescent brain

    is particularly susceptible to long-term consequences. Underage

    drinking is responsible for more than 4,300 annual deaths each year,

    and is linked to 189,000 emergency room visits.

     

  • Our day 2 National Prevention Week activity is the Sober Summer poster

    project. Stop by the cafeteria during your lunch to share your sober summer plans with your fellow classmates! Going on vacation? Hanging out with friends? Netflix and

    soaking up air conditioning? Whatever it is, we want to know! Write what

    you plan to do or share fun ideas free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.

     

  • National Prevention Week continues tomorrow; don’t forget to wear purple

    as we address prescription drug misuse.

     

  • Nearly 40,000 people in the United States die from suicide annually, or 1 person every 13 minutes.  This exceeds the death rate from homicides and automobile accidents. If you or someone you know needs help, call the suicide prevention hotline 1-800-273-TALK

  • Pitchers, first basemen and field umpires are needed for the Manito-Forest City Rotary Club House League.  These are PAID positions and will begin the week of May 14th.  Please see Mrs. Kerley to sign-up!

     

  • Any sophomore interested in being a class officer next year, please grab a petition from the door of Room 3. Petitions are due Wednesday, May 9, and the election will be held Friday, May 11.
