Any student that will be 18 on or before November 3 is eligible to vote in the upcoming election.  If you would like help registering to vote online, stop by the computer lab 2 before or after school this week.  You will need to bring with you a drivers license or state ID, and know your social security number.

Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of Midwest Central’s book club this year!  This year we are focusing our reading around the theme of social justice.  Our first book is Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You.  If you are interested, and still haven’t joined, scan the QR code hanging on the library door, or see Ms. Schaffer, Mr. Hyde, Mrs. Sidwell, or Mrs. Sundberg for more information.  Hope to see you there!

 Need money for college?  The VFW gives scholarships to high school students each year through its Voice of Democracy contest.  All you need to do is write and record a 3 to 5 minute audio essay.  This year’s theme is “Is this the Country the Founders Envisioned?”  The top National Prize is a $30,000 scholarship and first-place state winners receive a trip to Washington D.C.  Stop by the office ledge for an entry form and more information.  The deadline is October 31st.
