Meet the Principal


Jay Blair graduated with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL. He began his teaching career at Forman Junior High in 1988. He taught 7th grade science and coached junior high track and 8th grade boys’ basketball. After several years at the junior high, he transferred to the high school to teach science and coach JV boys’ basketball, high school track, junior high girls’ basketball, and started the cross country program.

After 13 years of teaching and coaching in the Midwest Central District, he obtained a Master of Science in education administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He became the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director in 2001. He later assumed the role of Principal at Midwest Central High School in 2008.


Rodney L. Norris graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education from Illinois College. He began his teaching career at Dallas City, Il, where he taught Physical Education and Technology. While at Dallas City, he also coached track, cross country, girls basketball and became their Athletic Director. While working at Dallas City, Mr. Norris obtained his Masters Degree in Administration from WIU.

This is Mr. Norris' 10th year in the district. He spent his first 2 years at the Primary School as the Assistant Principal, his next 4 years at the High School as the Athletic Director / Assistant Principal, 3 years as the Primary School Principal, and is now back at the High School.

Mr. Norris currently lives in Manito with his wife and daughter Kloe, who attends Midwest Central High School. A couple of his hobbies are biking and watching his daughter play softball.
