Friday 1/20/23 Announcements
- Today’s Lunch: Italian Meatball Sub
- Out of school guest forms for Homecoming are available on the office ledge. If you are bringing a guest that does not attend MCHS, you will need to have this form completed and turned in to the office no later than Friday, January 27th.
- The library will be closed both 5A and 5B today
- There will be a junior lip sync meeting in the library today during 5b
- The Lady Raiders took a sweeping win last night over Illini Central 55-37. Karysn Skaggs again drops 3, 3 pointers giving her 9 points. Makayla Morris dished off 4 assists. Carly and Cora DeSutter tied with 18 points. And Makayla Tarpley scored a 3 pointer at the end of the game to finish off the lady Raiders scoring. Not only did the Lady Raiders dominate on offense their defense held Illini Central scoreless in the 3rd quarter. The raiders also won the rebound battle 65-36 with Maddie Sidwell grabbing 18 rebounds. And Cora DeSutter breaking a school record with 24 rebounds. The Lady Raiders home game Tuesday has been canceled.
- There will be a senior red wagon meeting in room 18
- Juniors and Seniors- are you interested in Ag? Western is hosting an open house on March 24, 2023 to learn more about WIU and the School of Agriculture. We will be able to tour the farm, visit with faculty, students, and alumni, as well as enter for a chance to win a scholarship. Please see Mrs. Harbourn for sign-ups
- Dress up the week of Homecoming to earn points for your class. The dress-up days are as follows.
Monday- Decade Day: wear an outfit from a different decade, you are not confined to your class decade
Tuesday- Adam Sandler Day: wear an outfit that Adam Sandler would wear either on the street or a costume in a movie
Wednesday- Workout Wednesday- wear workout clothes such as sweatpants, leggings, sweatbands, etc.
Thursday- Class Color Day- wear your class color
Remember to keep all outfits within the dress code.
- Penny Wars is next week starting Monday and ending on Friday. Bring in pennies to earn positive points for your class and also bring in silver coins and dollar bills to sabotage the other classes by giving them negative points. This is another opportunity to win homecoming points for your class.
- Seniors please check your class google classroom to vote for Homecoming Court. If you do not want to be included on court please fill out the corresponding question on the voting form in Google Classroom. Today is the last day to vote!
