On Saturday, the Raiders traveled to Springfield to the 57th annual Jack Gardner Memorial Tournament. 25 teams entered this tournament from all over the state. You could even find UFC legend Matt Hughes in the stands! Kaci Eller fought hard against the boys and earned a win. Bocephus Schnoor was on a pinning spree! He pinned three opponents and placed 3rd! Liam Zimmerman added another pin to his season. Cole Beebe had two wins one of them being his first pin of the season. He finished at 6th place. Kaiden Hill added four more wins with two of them pins, he placed 3rd!

The Raiders boys basketball team had a busy weekend ahead of Christmas break. On Friday night, the Raiders went to Normal Calvary and took care of business with two blowout wins. The JV team headed to break with a 6-0 record with no games closer than 15 points, but the bigger tests will be in January as the schedule toughens up. Then on Saturday, the Varsity Raiders won 64-40 over Dunlap’s JV with a balanced scoring attack and stifling defense. In the nightcap, Stark County came out on fire making 9 of their first 10 3 pointers and built a large halftime lead. The boys in Black battled back to bring the game within 1 with a minute to go, but eventually came up short 66-62. The Raiders sit at 6-5 on the season and get a much needed break until they travel to Lexington on January 3. The support and enthusiasm from the community has been felt by the players and coaches and through more hard work and practice, big things are to come from the program later this winter.

The Raiders traveled to Jacksonville to wrestle tournament at Illinois College on Saturday. 37 teams entered this event! This year we started a new reading incentive at the Middle School and High School: 100 Book Before Graduation! The goal: for students to read 100 books between 6th -12th grades. To encourage students who don't have 7 years to complete the challenge, we lowered the goal for students above 6th grade. This year's seniors have a goal of 10 books by the end of April.

While we have no doubt she's read 100 books since 6th grade, Hailey Green is our first student to reach the 100 Books Before Graduation goal! Hailey (and any other seniors who meet their goal by the end of April) will be recognized at Senior Night in May.

Join our team!

The Freshman Raiders put on a display of toughness in a win against Riverton tonight. Midwest Central pulled away for a final score 55–43 after a strong second half, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to take control. The Raiders were led by J. Hunter with 15 points, knocking down four three-pointers, while N. Coffey added 14 points and C. Watts chipped in 12 to give Midwest Central three players in double figures. After a tight first half, the Raiders outscored Riverton 31–22 over the final two quarters, forced turnovers, and hit timely shots to secure the victory.

The "traveling duck" has landed at Midwest Central. Midwest Central beat IC last night to take possession of it. It will be roosting at Midwest Central until next basketball season when we play Havana.
