Volleyball Recap for 9/15.
Raiders traveled to Rushville tonight and battled it out in a 2 set win against the Rockets. 25-22, 25-22. Amelia Meeker finished with 6 kills while Eliza Kerley tallied 4. Addison Friedrich got 7 digs while Kayleigh Herrman served up 3 aces and 8 service points from the line.
The JV team battled on the road tonight against Rushville! It was a tough night as the Raiders fell in two hard fought games. 21-25 and 23-25. Even though the win didn't come home with us, the girls kept battling and never gave up! Every game is another opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger!
The Freshman volleyball team won in two against Rushville 25-22 & 25-10. Timber Allen led with 5 kills & Nora Dierker tallied 3. Khloe Patterson and Jaina Butler added 3 defensive digs a piece.

Thanks to a $5,564.88 grant from the Forman Valley Community Foundation and an equal matching contribution from Manito Musical Advocates, Midwest Central will purchase 100 Wenger Nota music posture chairs for our primary, middle, and high school band programs, a combined investment of $11,129.76 in our students!
These chairs will give band students across all three schools, from fifth-grade beginners through high school musicians, consistent seating designed for music instruction and a unified, professional appearance at concerts.
Dirk Heinhorst, President of the Forman Valley Community Foundation, and Matt Dobey, President of Manito Musical Advocates, recently presented the checks to Band Director Thad Franklin.
Thank you to both organizations and the community members who make their generosity possible. Your support will serve Midwest Central student musicians for years to come!
You know it's a good day when the Wi-Fi works, the printers print, the phones ring, and nobody says, "Did you try turning it off and back on again?"

As we continue highlighting the amazing members of our Transportation Department, we'd like to introduce Lisa!
This year marks an incredible 33 years as a school bus driver, including 9 years with Midwest Central.
When asked her favorite thing about driving a school bus, Lisa's answer was easy: “My kids." She shared that she enjoys being a grandma figure to many of the students and helping ensure they are safe each day.
Over the years, Lisa has built strong connections with generations of students and families. Her caring nature and dedication to the students she serves have made a lasting impact, and it's clear that the relationships she builds along the way are one of the things she treasures most about the job.
When asked what she's hoping for this school year, Lisa simply said she hopes for a smooth year.
Thank you, Lisa, for more than three decades of service, dedication, and care. We are grateful for the positive difference you make in the lives of our students every day.

Varsity Volleyball Recap 9/10:
Varsity showed up at home beating Illini Central in 2 sets: 25-22 & 25-17. Kayleigh Herrman and Addison Friedrich led the defense with 5 digs and 4 digs each. Amelia Meeker landed 10 kills and Eliza Kerley tallied 4 kills. Kayleigh Herrman served tough and got 4 aces and Nevaeh Cunningham got 2 solo blocks to finish the match strong.

JV Lady Raiders Battle to a Big 3-Game Victory!
The Raiders took the first game 25-21, dropped the second 22-25, and came back strong to finish the match 15-9 in the deciding third game! Neveah Cunningham led the team with 12 service points. Neveah Cunningham, Allyass Gauwitz, and Timber Allen each hammer 4 kills, while Julia Rasmussen added 3 kills to keep the offense rolling.
On defense Emma Markle kept the Raiders going with an impressive 9 digs!.
What a hard-fought team victory! The Lady Raiders showed determination, battled through three games, and finished strong when it mattered most! Way to fight, Raiders!

Varsity Volleyball - Varsity volleyball faced a tough Athens team and fell in two sets, 18-25, 20-25. Amelia Meeker led offensively with 9 kills while Eliza Kerley added 5 kills. Defensively, Raiders were led by Amelia Meeker with 5 and Addison Friedrich with 2 digs. Mia Warner added 20 assists. Raiders are back home on Thursday against Illini Central.
JV Volleyball - The Lady Raiders win in two!
The JV Lady Raiders came out strong tonight, defeating Athens, in two games 25-19 and 25-16.
Neveah Cunningham led the offense with 6 kills, while Alyssa Gauwitz led the team with 5 service points. Emma Markle anchored the defense with 7 digs to secure the victory!
This win was truly a team effort! From strong serves and small attacks, to hustle on defense and encouraging each other every point, the Lady Raiders played together and never let up. Proud of the way this team battled, trusted each other, and finished strong.
Golf - After a rough week of heat, the Golfing Raiders took on Greenview at home Tuesday night in a V & JV match. The Varsity lost their match even with Jackson Smith's low round of the day. The JV showed some good progress too. The Raiders JV take on CLA at home tonight.

This year marks 15 years behind the wheel at Midwest Central, where she can be found driving Bus #6. When asked her favorite thing about driving a school bus, Tammy's answer was simple:"My kids."
If you've ever talked with Tammy's students or their families, you've probably heard her called"Mom Tammy" or"Grandma Tammy." Over the years, she has built special relationships with generations of students and families, and it's not uncommon for parents to remind her that retirement will have to wait because a younger sibling is just getting started. At this rate, Tammy jokes that she may never get to retire!
When asked what she's hoping for this school year, Tammy shared that she's looking forward to"a very good year."
Tammy's kindness, commitment, and genuine care for students have made a lasting impact on countless families throughout her 15 years at Midwest Central. We are grateful for everything she does to help make each bus ride a positive experience.

Volleyball Recap Raiders vs. Brimfield
Coach Watson: Varsity battled hard against Brimfield, taking them to three sets, but ultimately came up short 16-25, 26-24, and 25-22. Raiders were led defensively by Addison Friedrich with 8 digs. Amelia Meeker and Eliza Kerley led the offense with 10 kills and 5 kills.
Coach Meyer: The JV lady Raiders battled hard against Brimfield, pushing the match to a thrilling three games! Midwest Central fought point for point falling 25-23, 19-25, and 11-15.
The offense was led by Neveah Cunningham with 5 kills and Nora Jockish with four kills, while Khloe Patterson contributed seven service points.
A hard fought battle from start to finish!
