Midwest Central wasted no time making a statement Tuesday, erupting for eight runs in the opening inning on their way to an 18-2 rout of Peoria Central. The Raiders remain unbeaten at 3-0 on the season. The early offensive explosion set the tone, as Midwest Central’s lineup delivered up and down the order. Ryan Terrill, Calvin Young, Dalton Johnson, and Zayne Hill each collected two hits in the dominant performance. Johnson’s night stood out in particular, as he drove in two runs and laced a pair of doubles to help fuel the surge. Jax Tumilty led the charge both on the mound and at the plate. The right-hander earned the win, striking out seven and allowing just one hit over three innings of work. He also delivered one of the game’s biggest swings—a bases-clearing RBI double that helped break things open early. The Raiders’ pitching depth was on full display as well. In his varsity debut, Thomas Berndt struck out the side in order, showcasing poise and potential in his first appearance. Evan Schmidt also added a milestone moment, recording his first varsity hit! Midwest Central now turns its attention to a key home matchup Thursday against the Eureka Hornets!
