The Freshman Raiders came up short against Havana tonight with a final score of 31-28. It was a back and forth physical battle between the Ducks and Raiders.
The Raiders look to bounce back this weekend as they play in Princeville to take on the Princes and Tremont Turks in a round robin.
Mr. Servis’ Physical Science classes are preparing to “wave” goodbye to the month of January with three active labs pertaining to the topic of waves. The three classes practiced measuring the wavelength of a wave generated by a length of rope. From this information, the speed of the wave could be calculated. After this, they used laser pointers and mirrors to reflect light and measure the angle of reflection. Finally, we wrapped up the week by testing how far a laser pointer light could be reflected around our High School hallways.
On Saturday night, before the games against Princeville, the Midwest Central basketball program honored all former players in attendance from Midwest Central, Forman, and Green Valley. Players from 2017 (Kobe Watts) to 1960 (J.D. Proehl) were in attendance. Some of the alumni also suited up and played a hard fought game in front of the home crowd. Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to continuing this tradition again next season.

The Freshman Raiders put on a show tonight against the visiting DeeMack Chiefs, beating them 60-17. It was their defense that stood out, as they totaled 16 steals and suffocated the Chiefs offense. Every Raider got their name in the points column tonight, as the boys exemplified team basketball. Blake Molitor had 12 points and 9 rebounds, and Zayne Arthalony chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. The Raiders look forward to next Monday, as they take on the Havana Ducks in Havana.
LIlian Cleaver, a senior at Midwest Central High School, has been selected by faculty and staff as the Student of the Month in Careers. Lilian is the daughter of Andrea and Jake Cleaver.
Throughout high school, Lilian has been involved in FFA and Careers Club. After graduating, Lilian plans to attend Black Hawk College in Kewanee, IL to study Equine Science and Veterinary Technology.
Lilian would like to thank Mrs. Sarff and the faculty of Midwest Central High School along with the Midwest Central School district for this opportunity.

On Tuesday, January 29, the following items will be replaced at all three buildings - instead of having chicken patties/spicy patties, we will be having the chicken (tenders) and waffles.

A freezing evening was no match for the white hot JV Raiders, who used a balanced offensive attack to down the Athens Warriors 53-50 in an exciting Tuesday evening game!
The Raiders had 4 players score multiple buckets, with Brenden Carton leading the charge with 15 points on 5 3 pointers. JJ Proehl and Blake Molitor also had double figures with 10 points each and Zayne Arthalony added 8 for the now 8-3 Raiders. With the win the Raiders also moved to 4-1 in Tomahawk conference play!
In the nightcap, the Raiders couldn’t hold Athens varsity down as they prevailed 61-37.
Be sure to come out Saturday night for an entertaining evening. The Alumni game begins at 5:00 followed by the JV and Varsity games against Princeville. The Booster club will have food available, so come hungry and be sure to wear Black as it will be Blackout night in support of our Raider athletes!

The Lady Raiders defeated Olympia's Spartans at home on Monday night. Scoring was very balanced as Carly DeSutter led with 11 points, Cally DeSutter had 10. Maddie Sidwell, Amelia Meeker and Eliza Kerley each had 8. Emma Junkin knocked down a 3 to finish out the scoring. Mia Warner and Kylin Brockhouse gave important minutes off the bench in the win. Maddie led the team with 13 rebounds and Cally had a team high 5 assists.
