Any Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior interested in being on Student Council may apply for the Student At-Large positions. Applications are on the bulletin board in the horseshoe hallway, or on the door of Room 10. All applications are due back to Miss Sauder (Room 10) by Friday August 30.

The Lady Raiders HS Volleyball Team is selling Casey’s pizza cards for a fundraiser this year. The card is $20. You get a free medium pizza each time you order a large specialty pizza. You can use the card 10 times. The cards are good at all Casey’s locations.
You can get a card from any volleyball player or when you are cheering on your favorite team at their first game - Our home opener is Tuesday, August 27th vs. Tremont!

Don’t let student transportation be frustrating for you or your students. Our goal is to provide you the best possible experience with getting your student to and from school.
Here are some helpful hints that will make your students transportation experience more successful.
• Mornings are rough and sometimes things don’t go as planned. If you need to make a change to your students busing in the morning, please call the Bus Barn at 309.968.3020.
• Please do not call, text, or message a driver or monitor as they don’t always look at their phones and may inadvertently miss an important message.
• Need to make an after school transportation change during the day? Changes can be made before 1:00 PM by calling the Bus Barn or school offices.

Today was the first day back at school for our building staff. We had a meeting and did a little bit of training. The one thing we all agree on is how excited we are to have our students back on Friday! 2024-25 is going to be an AMAZING school year! See you guys soon!
Over the past week, over 30 Midwest Central basketball players have been playing at the Curley "Boo" Johnson Skills for Life Basketball Academy Camp in Dunlap. This camp features over 250 players from Central Illinois and is run by Curley Boo Johnson, who was a former legendary player for the Harlem Globetrotters. For the first time in more than a decade Midwest Central was represented on the coaching staff as Carly DeSutter, Josh Dawe, and J.J. Proehl were selected to be coaches for teams of the younger campers. Of all the schools in the area, Midwest Central had by far the largest representation of athletes in attendance. Congratulations to all the players who worked on their basketball and life skills at the camp and represented our Raider Way!

With the middle school construction going on that building is closed right now, but any documents can be dropped at the high school or primary school and we will get them to the middle school.

The Fall Sports Parent Meeting with the coaches and athletic director will be held on August 6th at 7:15 at the HS. All fall sports parents need to attend this meeting. All previous seniors and previous MCHS graduates that applied for the Charles Beebe Scholarship, be on the lookout for a letter in the mail from Manito Community Bank. Lady Raiders Varsity Volleyball played in the Eastside Summer Showdown this weekend. The team played 7 matches over 2 days. The team learned a lot and is excited to get the season started August 12th for tryouts.
