Midwest Central High School is pleased to announce that four students from our graduating class of 2024 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, presents this important recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students annually. This year, nearly 16,700 honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958. We are proud of our students that have achieved this recognition. They are Courtney Maslana, Lilly McKimson, Collin Parkin, and Karsyn Skaggs.

The Raiders were in Petersburg to take on top level teams Porta, Tremont, and Warrensburg. Payne (132) secured his first varsity career win (by forfeit). Rasmussen (126) also secured his first varsity career win (by forfeit) Vonderheide (157) added 2 more pins to his collection pinning one opponent in the second period (3:24) and the other in the first period (1:21). Merrill (190) shocked the crowd and the bench exploded pinning his tough opponent in the second period (3:01)! The coaching staff are very proud of the improvements this young team is making. “Each time we step on the mat we look even better than the last time. The hard work and dedication this young team is putting in is starting to pay off. We may not have all the wins (right now) but it’s coming!” -Coach Augi The Raiders travel to Beardstown December 14th for the next matches.
