It’s almost time! Midwest Central Marching Band’s Marching with Mickey Raffle ends tonight! We will be drawing 4 winners this evening at the boy’s basketball game - prizes totaling $1000; including a $300 Yeti Hopper, a $460 Dooney and Bourke purse and matching wallet, a $160 Lego Millenium Falcon set, and a $100 Disney Loungefly backpack. 100% of proceeds directly fund the students trip. If you’d like to purchase tickets, please see the raffle table in the foyer. Ticket sales will end at the end of the 1st quarter of the varsity game, with winners drawn at halftime of Varsity game. The physical education classes at Midwest Central High School are finishing up the volleyball unit with their annual class tournaments. Students spend several weeks working on skills and game play and then end the unit with tournaments. Depending on the class size, tournaments may be made up of co-ed teams, teacher-helper teams and the ever-popular female students vs. male students game.
Today Olivia Lewis signed with Carl Sandburg College to play softball next year. Midwest Central wants to wish Olivia the best in her future college career. Carl Sandburg is getting an accomplished athlete and a great student.
Tonight's theme for the HS Boys Basketball game has been changed to Christmas.

Physics students are hard at work studying different types of bridges and aspects of bridges trussing/joints and now starting to build their bridges. They will work diligently on these bridges all second semester and then break them to determine who had the best design.

The National Honor Society is hosting a canned fruit drive at MCHS this week. Bring your canned fruit into the school and donate.
MCHS students were able to attend a workplace skills expo at the Pekin Country Club. The students learned about dressing for success, dining etiquette, and job searches.
On Friday, December 3rd, the Careers I and II classes from Midwest Central High School had the opportunity to tour the campus and facilities of both Illinois Central College and Midwest Technical Institute in East Peoria. At ICC, the students listened to an informative presentation from the admissions department and a student panel. The students went on a guided tour of campus and were able to complete a career assessment in the Career Center. The career assessment allows students to see what career paths their interests and skills match with and what academic programs and classes at ICC would be applicable to those careers. At MTI the students met with an admissions counselor and did a tour of the facility. They were able to see the classrooms and labs where each program meets daily for classes and hear more about the specific skills that students in those programs are learning.
