The Raiders picked up their first win of the season and the first win at MC for Coach Nick Gerndt, in convincing fashion, using a big second quarter and some tough defense to defeat Knoxville 72-42. Josh Dawe has a big game with a team high 16 points. Brenden Carton added 12 points and Ryan Terrill added 10 more as the Raiders used great defense to turn the Blue Bullets over 24 times. With the win the Raiders move to 1-2 with a chance to get back to .500 tomorrow night at the Peoria Heights Thanksgiving Tournament beginning at 6:30 at Peoria Heights grade school.

Our wrestlers traveled to PORTA to start off the season last night! Remington Vonderheide started the first match of the night. The Senior captain showed this young squad how it’s done by pinning his first opponent! David Andrews followed as he pinned his first opponent securing his first Varsity win! He ended the night with two pins!! John Payne got a win for his team helping them put team points on the board. Kamden Merrill faced tough competition. He battled hard all night and secured his first pin of the season! “Over all this young team did great. 70% of our lineup had never wrestled a high school match before. Everyone fought hard and knows what they need to work on to get better! The season is still young and I’m excited to see these athletes grow in this sport.” - Coach Augi

Last week, Mrs. Schneider's class had the opportunity to organize and lead a fall craft at The Lodge at Manito. Students voted on designs, prepped supplies, made examples, and led residents through the craft. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Today the Lady Raiders travel to Elmwood to begin their Turkey Tournament action. The Lady Raiders play Elmwood at 11:00 and Wethersfield at 3:20. Good Luck Ladies! Tournament location: 301 W. Butternut St., Elmwood.


The Midwest Central/Delavan Lady Riders hosted Riverton last night and got the win 50 to 22. Cally DeSutter led the way with 12 points and Maddie Sidwell had 10. They Lady Raiders had balanced scoring as Carly DeSutter and Eliza Kerley chipped in with 8 points each, Amelia Meeker had 5, Ava Warner with 3 and Kylin Brockhouse as well as Mia Warner had 2. Cally DeSutter led the team in assists and steals with 7 assists and 6 steals. Amelia Meeker grabbed a team high 9 rebounds. Emma Junkin returned to action after her injury and gave great minutes in her 1st playing time of the season. Houston Butler played physical on the glass as the play revved up late. The Lady Raiders dominated the glass having 40 rebounds as a team compared to 26 for the Lady Hawks.


The Lady Raiders host Riverton tonight for a V only game. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00. Good Luck Ladies!


TOMORROW IS THE DAY: MCHS History Club and Forman Valley Public Library are teaming up to support our military this holiday season… with Military Care Packages!
Students - Starting November 20th, we begin 2024 OPERATION: MILITARY CARE PACKAGES CLASS COMPETITION!!! The class with the most points at the end of the day on 11/26 will WIN the afternoon of 12/18 off (if you are eligible to skip finals)! Please drop off the items during lunch OR give items to Mrs. Harbourn or Ms. Rousseau as they are the ONLY ones that can record points.
