Mr. Welch was lucky enough to observe a lesson today a in Ms. Rousseau’s 4th Hour US History class. The class spent time in a historical debate arguing as Loyalist and Patriots leading up to the Revolutionary War.
The entire class participated and did a great job! A special Principal shoutout to Gabe Provence, John Payne, and Lillian Jones for their active and enthusiastic debating.
Khloee Morris, a senior at Midwest Central High School, has been selected by the faculty and staff as the Student of the Month in Agriculture. Khloee is the daughter of Mindy and Davy Mulligan of Manito and Brian Morris of Pekin.
During High School, Khloee has been involved in NHS, FCCLA, and FFA. She has also played volleyball all 4 years of high school.
After graduating, Khloee plans to attend ICC in the Pre-Veterinary program. She will then transfer to University of Illinois to get her bachelors and eventually get into their Vet school.
Khloee would like to personally thank the Midwest Central School district and staff for this opportunity.

Roasted, in Manito, invited Mrs. Schneider and Mrs. Kerley's Work Skills class for a visit! The class practiced taking orders, working the register, making drinks, and ordering. We are so thankful for Roasted and their commitment to helping our Raiders learn practical skills. Thank you!!

Mr. Beal and his shop classes have finished the girls softball/boys baseball shed for Green Valley! Great work, Raiders!!
MCHS is excited to welcome Ms. Hofreiter as our new Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor. We are excited for this new chapter in the department and looking forward to seeing what Ms. Hofreiter can bring to our school and our community.
On Saturday, 2 MCHS students had the honor of performing in the ILMEA All-State Concert. They got to rehearse with 200 other students from all over the state and work with exceptional directors all weekend. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication. Congratulations!

Please note the following important information about Monday night's Sectional Championship at Midwest Central Middle School:
1. Season passes cannot be accepted. Admission is cash only! Per IESA: $5 for HS students & adults. $3 for K-8 students & senior citizens (62+).
2. Gates open at 5:30 PM - Parking is limited. The following are parking options: the main parking lot at the Middle School, designated areas in the front of the school, the teacher parking lot behind the school, and overflow parking at Green Valley Centennial Park. If possible, carpooling would be greatly appreciated.
3. SHUTTLE Option: There will be a shuttle provided from Centennial Park to the gym that will run every 5-8 minutes before and after the game. Pick up and drop off will be in the designated spot in front of the gym.
4. We know you are excited to cheer on our Raiders! However, please note that the display of signage, banners, balloons, or noise making devices are PROHIBITED during IESA State Series Tournament Play!
5. We know you will want to capture photos of this amazing game, but please note that FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY is prohibited.
