The Midwest Central Cross Country Team competed today at the Donovan Park Regional hosted by Peoria Notre Dame. Running on a very hilly 5K (3.1 miles) course the Raiders ran against some of the best teams in the state. 4 of the top 10 ranked teams in the state were competing at this regional. Senior Ayden Forbis ran his best race of the year and placed 22nd with a time of 17:37.86. CJ Ballard ran 22:58.85 and placed 65th. Rounding out the Raider this year was Dakota Piro finishing in 71st place with a time of 24:46.81.
With Ayden’s 22nd place, he automatically qualified as the top individual (not already on an advancing Sectional team) to move onto Sectionals next week at Elmwood. Way to go Ayden!

Mrs. DeSutter's Environmental Science students are learning about native and invasive species in their Habitat Destruction Chapter. The game they played today had 4 native species that ate specific things in a specific way. The habitat was balanced until an invasive species came in and ate all the food leaving none for the native species. This led to extinction of some native species.

Mrs. Harbourn took her group out in the community to hide the rocks they painted in art therapy!! We viewed this activity as sprinkling parts of self within our community. We talked about how we can add value to our environment and people with acts of kindness. We focused on what it means to be a part of a community! We visited local businesses and worked on connecting and expressing gratitude! Be on the lookout for our jazzy rocks!!!
