Today we held a Mock Crash event sponsored by the Illinois Neurological Institute through the ThinkFirst Program. "Operation Prom Night" integrated many of our local emergency organizations and our student actors to show our students the impacts of impaired driving. Thanks to everyone who committed time and resources to educate our students, including: Manito Police Department, Forman Fire Department, Green Valley Fire Department, Mason County Sheriff's Department, ThinkFirst, OSF Healthcare EMS education, OSF Life Flight, IL Department of Transportation, Hurley Funeral Home, ABG Towing/Andy Dill, Mason County Coroner's Office, Il State Police, Meyer's Country Gardens, and SIU School of Medicine. A special thanks to Michelle Watson for sharing her story.

The MCYWC would like to present our Family Movie Night! One of our goals as a club is to create connections with families and community members. We will be hosting a Family Movie Night at Veterans Park on Saturday, May, 27th, 2023. Our main goal is to provide an event to support time together; there is no admission fee, and popcorn is FREE!!! There will be concessions and a 50/50. The funds raised from concessions and the 50/50 will support wrestlers’ summer camp fees and new wrestling mats. Although there is a fundraising component, you are not required to give to attend. This event is free to all. We appreciate all the support and look forward to seeing more kids involved! We are so grateful to be a part of this community!! 🖤

We have very exciting news to share... Three of the four students enrolled in ICC’s Dual Credit Welding program competed in USA welding contest last Friday (April 28th) and had awards on Saturday. The students had to take a written exam back in the early Spring to advance to State where they competed against other students from Illinois. Our Raiders brought the heat!!! Dawson took home the GOLD medal in the College Division, and he will be going to Nationals in Georgia over the summer!!! WOW, way to go Dawson!!!! Our other two students competed in a group welding competition, and they earned the bronze medal!!!! Way to go Brayden and Mason!!!! We are so proud of our Raiders and lets wish Dawson the best of luck as he attends Nationals in the summer!!!

The Raiders baseball team picked up a pair of victories over South Fulton 13-1 and shutting out the Illini Central Cougars 15-0! In Friday's action, Collin Parkin picked up the complete game win for Midwest Central, allowing only 1 hit, no earned runs and striking out 7 on the afternoon! Offensively the Raiders pounded out 7 hits for their 13 runs, with Collin Parkin going 3-3 and Eli Woodley picking up 2 RBIs! Monday's game against Illini Central brought more offense out of the Raiders with the visitors pounding out 13 hits in the 5 inning affair. Austin Kammeyer, Cade Muhich, and TJ Pfeiffer all had multiple hits for the Raiders with Pfeiffer picking up 4 RBI and Parkin and Muhich adding 2 RBI apiece. TJ Pfeiffer was the winner on the mound, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings striking out 7 and Braden Johnson finished the shutout with 2 more strikeouts. WTG Raiders!
