A thrilling corner 3 pointer with just 7 seconds remaining brought Midwest Central’s season to a heartbreaking end in the regional semifinals, as they fell to the third-seeded Illini Central Cougars, 52-51. Despite the tough loss, the Raiders left everything on the court, showcasing the resilience and determination that defined their season. Josh Dawe delivered a standout performance, leading the way with 22 points, including four clutch 3 pointers. The senior leaders stepped up on the big stage as well, with Owen Schmidt contributing 8 points and 8 rebounds and John Schnoor adding 6 points. Senior Ayden Forbis also contributed with great effort off the bench. Though their win streak ended at three, this team’s fight and grit have set the foundation for future success. With their effort and heart, these Raiders paved the way for the program’s continued growth in the years to come under the leadership of Coach Nick Gerndt.

Check out the 2025-26 school calendar. One item to note is that we will have to add a 1/2 day next April when we find out the date of the ACT test. The state doesn't publish that date until later in the year.

MCHS Science Club has been a core staple for many years in Manito, IL. Under the tutelage of Mr. Servis, the students actively participating in Science Club perform after school experiments (like the bacteria culture sampling lab in the pictures provided), participate in the high school’s recycling program, and visit scientific venues from the St. Louis Science Center to the Field Museum in Chicago to further expand their knowledge of this unique content area. We perform park cleanups throughout the community and fundraise through Fannie Mae to help keep our extracurricular club going. Science is the study of the natural world through observation and experimentation, and the MCHS Science Club follows that through all endeavors.
