"The National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) “ was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation's children."
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
Our staff selected Courtney as our 2024 DAR Good Citizen because she demonstrates these qualities to an outstanding degree. On April 20th, Courtney attended the DAR luncheon where she was recognized with other students in the area.
We are proud of our Raider and her continued dedication to her school and community. Courtney is now eligible for the scholarship portion so let's wish her the best of luck!!!

Last week, the MC Board of Education treated staff with a pick me up! The Lil Roasted mobile coffee trailer was on site at every building and staff members were able to grab a yummy drink!

Happy Bus Appreciation Day! Our transportation staff is top notch! They do an amazing job of transporting our Raiders safely day in and day out.

Over the course of the season Isabella Passmore has been striking out batters at such a prodigious rate that she has already broken the single season strikeout mark for the Lady Raiders with 3 full weeks left in the regular season! She currently has 251 strikeouts from the circle breaking the record she tied last season that was originally set by 2006 graduate Laura Wright.
Also, she has set a new career strikeout record for Midwest Central with 664 and counting! The previous record was held by Laura Wright as well (639). AMAZING!

Raider Nation, we have some exciting news about our Raiders in the ICC dual credit welding program!!
Seniors, Dylan, Brennen, John, and Eric entered a Midwest Technical Institute welding competition on Saturday, April 20th. There was a total of 56 students from Illinois and Iowa that participated. Our Raiders brought the heat; three of our Raiders placed in the top ten. The students will be competing in the State Skills USA contest this Thursday and Friday at the Peoria Civic Center for a chance to go to Nationals this summer in Atlanta.
We are so proud of our Raiders! If you see one of them prior to Thursday, wish them all the best with the State contest.

We are so proud of our Raider Owen. He applied and was accepted into the Construction Industry Work-Based Learning Program through PERFECT for fall of the 2024-25 school year.
Students who apply to be in this program must demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, professionalism, and consistency; Owen’s teachers and school counselor felt strongly that Owen possesses those characteristics and will represent MCHS well. The WBL Construction Program is designed to expose high school students to the different trades and to build and master skills to be successful in the construction field.
In the first semester, Owen will visit 12 different trades, earn OSHA, First Aid & CPR certificates, and learn skills related to different trades. In the second semester, Owen will be surveyed and placed with a contractor. He will shadow a project manager and a site supervisor. This is an excellent way to be exposed to the different trades.
Way to go Owen!!! We are proud of you.

The decision has been made to postpone tonight's HS track meet to May 6th due to both teams competing last night and the possibility of weather moving in.

Due to the possibility of weather moving in later today, the HS BB game at Delavan has been moved to a 4:00 start. There will be no JV game played. If the weather moves in faster that planned, we will make adjustments at that time.

The HS BB and SB games scheduled for tonight have been cancelled.

On Saturday the MCHS band and choir performed at IHSA Organizational contest. Both ensembles received Excellents. Congratulations students!
